Yoga Classes

I teach a variety of yoga classes in and around Glasgow. At these classes, you can expect a non-prescriptive approach to yoga that aims to help you discover your inner power and peace.

Pregnancy Yoga

Suitable for: Anyone who is currently pregnant (from 13 weeks+).

In pregnancy yoga, we focus on mindful movement to help lengthen and strengthen the muscles and tissues and prepare for birth.

We explore different positions and breathing practices that can be used to help your baby navigate their way down through the pelvis and help you to remain calm, however your birth unfolds. It’s a grounding physical yoga practice that will help you find calm and joy throughout your entire pregnancy – particularly in moments when you need it most.

We also discuss the hormones of labour and birth and how the body changes throughout pregnancy. It’s an invitation to get to know your own body and needs through creative and exploratory practice.

Here’s what else you can expect from my prenatal yoga classes:

  • Classes tailored to your needs - We’ll check in at the start of each class so I can tailor the practice to address any specific needs or symptoms you might be having

  • Relaxation time - Every class will end with a guided pregnancy relaxation or stillness to integrate your practice and ensure you leave feeling restored.

  • A supportive community - Connect with others outside of class, ask questions and share pregnancy resources by joining our voluntary WhatsApp group.

  • Time and space for chat - We’ll make time at the start of every class to give you the space to share your current experiences with other pregnant people. This is also an opportunity to share information and resources, including books, products and antenatal services.

Postnatal Yoga

Suitable for: Anyone who has recently given birth (from 6 weeks postpartum for vaginal births and 8 weeks postpartum for c-section) up until around a year postpartum (and their babies!).

This postnatal yoga class is a mindful, grounding practice that focuses on regaining strength following childbirth. We pay particular attention to the core and pelvic floor, whilst easing off tense and tight areas that could appear anywhere in the body.

We use gentle breathing practices throughout the class to give you the tools you need to remain calm and grounded any time you’re feeling exhausted or overwhelmed adjusting to motherhood.

Here’s what else you can expect from my postnatal yoga classes:

  • Baby-friendly environment: Babies are very welcome. Foam mats will be provided so they can be alongside you during the practice.

  • Post-pregnancy body support: I will assist new students to check their diastasis recti if they wish. Going to see a pelvic floor physio may be recommended.

  • Supportive community - Connect with others outside of class, ask questions and share pregnancy resources by joining our voluntary WhatsApp group.

  • Time and space to chat - Postnatal yoga sessions will always end with tea and biscuits to give you some time to connect with other local new mums and parents.

Yoga for Body, Breath & Mind

Suitable for: Everyone

This is a nourishing practice to support the body, mind and breath. We use yoga and mindfulness techniques that encourage self-enquiry and compassion, while helping you to develop strength & mobility and maintain health & vitality.

The class always starts with grounding techniques to invite you to come into your body and practice tuning in to the present moment. We then move mindfully with the breath and explore various styles of yoga, including elements of Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative and Scaravelli yoga.

Class ends with breathing techniques followed by relaxation which may include mindfulness body scans, yoga nidra or silence, giving you the space to integrate your practice and feel more calm and present in your daily life.

Creating a community is very important to me, so there will always be the option to go for coffee after class at a local cafe with other students.

Private Lessons & Special Events

I offer private yoga lessons (including one-to-ones) and special events (which can be booked as stand-alone sessions or in blocks).

Private lessons are an excellent way for you to gain confidence in your yoga practice and your body through tailored guidance and support. We begin every class with a check-in so that I can adapt our sessions based on how you’re feeling physically, mentally and emotionally.

I love teaching at special events, including birthday parties, hen dos and work away days. Just get in touch if you’d like to discuss your ideas - I love to hear them!

Yoga can be a great addition to your event, helping to ground people in the present moment and allowing them to enjoy the day to its fullest.

I tailor every class to suit the needs of the group, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and is included.
